The Palmettos of Charleston Memory Care
At The Veranda we believe in seeing every Resident for who they truly are. Our special approach is designed to reinforce strengths, offer support for daily challenges and recognize the essence of every Resident’s personality. Our staff is guided by each Resident’s plan and we work as a team to support both the planned and unexpected health and personal needs 24 hours a day.
The Palmettos is a community that is built on the premise that Alzheimer’s disease and other related memory disorders are diseases of the mind, not the spirit. Our philosophy recognizes each individual as unique and we provide an environment that fosters achievement-oriented activities to enhance everyone’s lifestyles.
Our goal is to create pleasure, maintain dignity, provide meaningful tasks, restore roles, and enable friendships. It is important to emphasize individual strengths and to promote self-esteem. A serene and predictable life-style provides for a genuine sense of home and belonging. Our desire is to ensure all of our Residents enjoy optimal health, emotional and spiritual well being while family members enjoy a true peace of mind.
In addition, the Alzheimer’s Community includes:
- Daily activity calendar for recreation and socialization
- Caregiver escort to medical appointments
- Continence management
- Special activities and programs for the memory impaired
The Veranda Memory Care residences of The Palmettos provide warm, comforting and reassuring atmosphere for Residents who may need more personalized health management care in a secure environment.
Our personalized approach ensures that our Residents feel entirely comfortable and at home in a protected, safe environment.
