“When mom died a few years ago, dad quickly decided he did not want to stay in the house. We began searching for an independent living venue that would work for him. We visited a couple and quickly knew they weren’t the one. When we went to Lake St. Charles, we immediately felt the difference. The people who work here are very kind, gracious and helpful. That includes all departments, from housekeeping to maintenance to the dining room personnel, etc. Whenever we have had difficulty, of any kind, we have received help. Dad has poor eyesight. Sometimes he gets his t.v. remote out of whack from hitting the wrong buttons and maintenance will come and straighten it out for him without any attitude or shaming. When we have had phone trouble, they check that out for him. And the list goes on. Recently, dad had a fall and broke his hip. Lake St. Charles got the ambulance to take him to the hospital. In walking through the process of hospitalization, surgery, rehab, and acclimating back to his independent living apartment, Lake St. Charles was proactive on dad’s behalf. Any difficulty that came up, they helped us find a solution. They offer services that helped dad get back on his own and continue to live independently. The peace of mind I have, with dad living at Lake St. Charles, is priceless. I know that if a need arises, I can call and get whatever help we need. I feel that dad is well cared for and looked after by people who genuinely care. We will be forever grateful that we found this haven.”

“My grandfather moved into Lake Saint Charles a couple years ago following the loss of my grandmother. He quickly grew to love his new environment and the wonderful people taking care of him. Over the years, we too enjoyed numerous family events and gatherings. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. I cannot say great enough things about the wonderful care that was provided. They loved on him, shared many laughs and tears with him and our family over the years. They took time to get to know his family, met with us when his health was declining and guided us in the right direction to navigate great continuity of care for him. When he passed in November 2018, they grieved with us, lots of hugs and prayers were shared between our family and staff. I could not be more grateful for the care that was provided by the entire community at Lake St Charles. Wonderful people, excellent environment and caring staff that go above and beyond. Samantha, how in the world can an Administrator take care of your regular duties and constantly go from one game after another? Thanks for being so visible. I especially thank you for helping my friend Paul when he did not know how to go get his food. You were there. Donna, a thousand thanks would not be enough for you and your great staff. You constantly give them credit for the extra work, yet I know that you put in several hours getting ready for the games, then making sure plans were carried out and making changes that were needed. Again, thank you for what you did for Paul the night of the “Bluegrass Band.” I did not think it was possible. You had him laughing more in a few minutes than I have seen for a long time.”
