Dear Families,

Welcome to April’s news!  We look forward to enjoying all the signs of spring together at the center this month.

Special Announcement

Events for the month: Eclipse event, we have glasses for everyone, will have popcorn, soda and music. this is Monday, April 8th, 12:30pm-2:00pm. Staff and residents will have hot dogs, chips and cookies provided for everyone that day for lunch before. we will also have our Sunshine Dance on Monday, April 22nd. The Sunshine Club from Holcomb High School will be hosting a dance with our residents from 1:30pm-3:00pm. The activity department will be doing hair and makeup that morning. We will also be celebrating Karaoke week. We will have Karaoke with Danny Liford on Thursday, April 25th from 2:00pm-3:00pm.

This month, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services launched a new requirement for long-term care centers regarding “Enhanced Barrier Precautions.”  You will see our team wearing gowns and gloves occasionally in the center.  This added level of precaution protects patients who might be more vulnerable if exposed to any multidrug-resistant organisms that live on the body.

We wanted to make sure you understand this is for extra precautions not because there is a new virus or germ in the center. As always, we appreciate your help in infection prevention! Washing our hands is the best way to prevent germs from spreading.

Be on the lookout via mail for information regarding our Family Night. This will be Thursday, May 30th from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Dinner will be served at 5:30pm. We will have live entertainment by Jeff Dorris, a photo booth, food and drinks. If weather does not cooperate, we will have this on Tuesday, June 4thfrom 5:00pm-7:00pm.
