Honoring Mom: Thoughtful Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Celebrating Nurses Week 2024

As Mother’s Day approaches, it’s time to celebrate the incredible mothers and mother figures in our lives. Whether they’re near or far, finding the perfect gift to show our appreciation can make their day truly special. In this blog post, we’ve curated a list of thoughtful and heartwarming gift ideas that are sure to bring joy to Mom’s heart. Let’s explore how we can honor and cherish the remarkable women who mean so much to us. Families, please help us celebrate National Skilled Nursing Care Week May 12th – 18th! This year’s theme is “Radiant Memories – A Tribute to the Golden Age of Radio.” To honor this week and our residents, the Life Enrichment/Recreation Dept. is asking for families to dedicate a special song for their loved that our staff can deliver as a singing telegram to them from you. Please contact Carla Kinser, Life Enrichment Director @ NHC, Fort Sanders or sign-up at the front desk on ground floor to give us your dedicated song with artist. LET’S MAKE THIS A MUSICAL MOMENT TO REMEMBER!!!

As Nurses Week approaches, please take a chance to thank our team of nurses who tirelessly care for our patients. From their unwavering dedication to their compassionate hearts, nurses truly embody the essence of heroism every day. Join us in honoring these remarkable individuals as we extend our sincerest thanks for their invaluable contributions to healthcare and our lives. NHC, Fort Sanders would like to give a BIG “shout out” to all our residents, partners, and families who submitted entries to compete in our NHC County Fair on Friday, April 26th! Everyone enjoyed looking at the beautiful photos, various crafts & paintings, and unique collectables. NHC appreciates you sharing and showcasing your hobbies, interests, and talents for all to see and enjoy! Also, would like to send a special thank you to the following presenters at the NHC County Fair: Kimberly Way with Caris Hospice, Steve Madden, Hair Dresser Avery Buford, A.I.T. Austin Rowland, Cindy Walker, and Grace Eber with UT Botanical Gardens. An extra special thank you is extended out to the STAR’s Minis in Motion Program who provided therapeutic animals for our residents to see and pet during NHC County Fair Week! And last but not least, NHC, Fort Sander’s would like to give a Big FAREWELL & THANK YOU to UT Therapeutic Recreation Interns, Natalie Mummert and Zoe Pryor, who will be graduating from the University of Tennessee in May 2024. We appreciate all the hard work, compassion, and various activities you brought to our residents, families, and partners that helped enhance their quality of life @ NHC! Congratulations to you both!!!
