Accredited in 1982, the NHC Dietetic Internship program provides 1000+ hours of supervised practice rotations in hospitals, including a level 1 trauma center, dialysis centers, long-term care centers, as well as community experiences. NHC’s dietetic internship faculty believes in providing a nurturing environment that is conducive to learning, as well as challenging academically.  In conjunction with the supervised practice rotations, dietetic interns who do not hold a master’s degree are required to obtain a graduate degree. This requirement can be met through one of NHC’s three affiliates - Middle Tennessee State University, the University of Alabama, or Texas Tech University. After completing both the supervised practice and graduate degree requirements, interns become eligible to take the credentialing exam for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. NHC seeks to employ graduates of the program. Many graduates have accepted jobs with NHC and have long and successful careers.
