MRMC, NHC seek $18M nursing home
Maury Regional Medical Center and Murfreesboro-based National HealthCare Corporation are awaiting final approval to build an $18-million nursing home in Columbia. The two organizations applied for a certificate of need from the Tennessee Health Systems Development Agency in July. The application was deemed complete for review and will be considered on Oct. 23. The facility is tentatively named the NHC/Maury County Regional Transitional Care Center and would be a 112-bed skilled nursing home. A skilled nursing facility is a certification that allows for Medicare reimbursement.
