NHC ups investment in new Bellevue facility to $38 million

Murfreesboro-based National HealthCare Corp. is breaking ground today on a new $38 million assisted living and skilled nursing center in Bellevue, a project that’s expected to create 200 jobs.
The facility has been one of several in the works in recent years for NHC, which in 2012 said it planned to invest at least $80 million to build new facilities over the next few years. The Bellevue center was originally expected to represent a $22 million investment, which has since been upped to $38 million.
The new center, called NHC Place at the Trace and expected to open in 2016, will include 172 beds: 90 for skilled nursing and 82 for assisted living. Twenty-two of the assisted-living beds will be for memory care patients.
NHC is one of several Nashville-area companies experiencing growth thanks to the growing senior population in the United States and other changing health care trends, as detailed in a recent Nashville Business Journal cover story.
In addition to the new Bellevue facility, NHC has plans to add new centers in Sumner County, Maury County and in the Hermitage area of Davidson County, according to today’s news release.
