General Description:

UNIT MANAGER DUTIES AND TASKS

Daily

  • Provide daily direction and leadership to your nurses and CNA’s. Performance behavior opportunity. Take ownership of your UNIT.

  • Verify nurse and CNA coverage, assignments, lunches, showers, etc are scheduled.

General Purpose

Working with the interdisciplinary care team, to assure accurate patient assessment and development/revisions of individualized plans of care.
Maintains open and ongoing communication with patients and families, providing opportunity and encouragement to participate in decision making.
Assure that nursing partners have been assigned duties
Make rounds, with specific attention to high acuity patients
Monitor unit/units to ensure that appropriate nursing care (according to established policies and procedures) is being provided and that doctors and families are being notified of changes in patients’ condition
Assume responsibility for assisting with meds and treatments as needed.
Assist with admitting patients and processing of physician orders as required.
Assist with hiring and supervision and participates in the orientation of new nursing partners
Assures the personal dignity and physical safety of each patient. Assist patients to attain the highest level of self-care possible.
Assist physician during rounds
Supervise nursing partners as assigned. Complete performance evaluations as required (two times per year).
Make changes in staffing schedule as indicated by absence and illness and contact additional help to assure staffing levels are maintained in order to meet the care needs of patients
Carry out personnel disciplinary action(s) (written, verbal warnings, suspension and termination) promptly and effectively as stated in personnel policies and amendments.
Maintain the security of the premises and direct unauthorized persons coming on the premises to leave
Perform weekly skin assessments, incident reports, nursing summaries, recording of patient weights, alert charting, daily skilled nurses notes and other documentation as assigned.
Relieve other shifts if needed.
Participate in ON-CALL Program
Attend in-service education programs and participates in Silver Chair Training, as assigned, to learn new procedures, develop skills, etc.
Leads by example and performs hands on care, answers call lights and assist C.N.A.’s in their duties when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned

Thank you for your interest in taking the state certified nurse aide training program. Our program is a fast paced class that is completed in 15 days. The class will be held the first full 3 weeks of each month.. To be considered for the class, you must provide the following at the time of your scheduled Interview:

  • Completed Application
  • Proof of your High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Photo Identification
  • Social Security Card

We will utilize the Tennessee and/or National Abuse Registry for Children and Adults. No one with a felony conviction, certain misdemeanor charges, and/or found on the abuse registry can be admitted to the class.

Since the class is only 15 days, no absences or tardies are permitted. You must maintain a grade average of an 81 to continue in the course.

A Uniform in Royal Blue will need to be purchased for the class You will be responsible for any additional school supplies.

Class hours are from 7:00AM to 3:00PM. Clinicals will be 6:30 am – 2:30 pm. No facial piercings are to be worn to class except for stud earrings by female students. No tattoos are to be seen.

Students are chosen for hire based on the facility need, shift availability of the candidate, professional interview, flexibility of the candidate, previous work history and attitude. Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Are determined by the center and may include, but are not limited to the following:
Requisitions supplies and equipment for use in department activities.
Keeps records of work performed and costs involved.
Inspects all equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety.
Prepares and submits reports as directed by the administrator.
Able to be on call for emergencies.
Responsible for the care and use of supplies and maintenance equipment used in performance of duties.
Regular inspection of property and equipment for compliance with safety regulations.
Able to cooperate with other partners.
Maintain the flooring throughout the entire building: daily, quarterly and yearly.
Maintain and check halls on daily basis for dust mopping. Spot mop when busy with other specific jobs.
Scrub halls 3-4 times a week with automatic scrubber (vct flooring or laminate).
Vacuum carpet every day. (If needed in certain area daily)
Strip, wax and buff vct as needed.
Carpet will be cleaned by outside company yearly and we will spot clean as needed.
All utilities will be cleaned with scrubber quarterly, walls cleaned and disinfected and more if needed.
Responsibility for all trash x 2 daily (A.M. and P.M.)
Clean trash cans out monthly or as needed in utility rooms.
Clean all shower rooms with automatic scrubber on monthly basis, to include walls.
All cubical curtains cleaned at first of year (January) and taken down throughout year as needed. All window drapes cleaned in January taken down and re-hung by floor tech.
Assists with all loading and unloading of any materials we receive.
Damp cleans all hall walls quarterly to include baseboards.
Scrubs all room baths quarterly with automatic scrubber.
In spring, cleans all windows inside and out.
Maintains all porches and sidewalks.
Cleans all doors and glass leading outside of building.
Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.


PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supervising the cleanliness of the patient rooms, patient areas and hallways.

  • Able to lift 20 to 25 pounds frequently

  • Able to work with standard cleaning chemicals

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that housekeepers clean patient bathrooms including sinks, toilets, tubs and showers
  • Ensure that housekeepers empty garbage cans in patient rooms, patient bathrooms, activity areas and other areas throughout the center
  • Ensure that patient areas are clean, including mopping and/or buffing floors, dusting furniture both on top and underneath
  • Ensure that hallways are clean of debris, mopped, stripped and buffed following company and center policies and procedures
  • Ensure that walls, furniture and equipment are cleaned, as needed, to provide a clean pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors
  • Work safely, following proper procedures when using chemical agents and ensure that Housekeeping staff follow these procedures and are trained accordingly
  • Establish cleaning schedules and ensure that the schedules are followed by Housekeeping staff
  • Other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
