Dear Families, 

As we step into March, we are greeted by the promise of spring and the joy of longer days. With Daylight Savings Time just around the corner, we will soon enjoy more daylight in our evenings, giving us extra time to spend with loved ones and engage in outdoor activities.

Special Events: Tuesday, March 4th Mardi Gras party with Elliot Wade entertainment from 3:00pm-4:00pm. Monday, March 17th from 2:00pm-3:30pm St. Patrick’s Day Party with Isabella Love entertainment.

Announcements: Please join us for any activities you would like to attend with your loved ones! We will be having a Blood Drive here Tuesday, March 18th from 1:30pm-5:00pm. Please get with the activity dept. if you would like to donate.

Special Thanks: Thank you VNA Hospice for doing church service, memorial service and crafts with our residents this past month, thank you Legacy Hospice for helping with our super bowl party and bringing sandwiches. Thank you First Presbyterian Church for having church with our residents on the 16th and thank you First Christian Church for having church for our residents on the 23rd. Thank you First Baptist Church Pre-k and kindergarten Mission Friends for bringing our residents Valentines cards, goody bags and singing while signing Jesus Loves Me. Thank you Bella Kay -daisy scout for bringing our residents so many boxes of girl scout cookies! Thank you Girl Scout’s Troop 71915 for bringing our residents valentine’s cards and spending time with them. Thank you Chris and his dog Merle for visiting our residents last month, this was such a blessing and lifts our residents’ spirits.

This month, we are excited to celebrate National Social Work Month. Our dedicated social work team embodies the theme “Compassion + Action,” tirelessly working to support and uplift our community. Please join us in expressing our heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering commitment and the positive impact they make every day. Thank you, social work team, for your compassion and dedication!

March is also National Nutrition Month, a perfect time to focus on healthy eating habits and overall wellness. Here are a few tips to help you celebrate: 

  1. Incorporate More Fruits and Vegetables: Aim to fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables at each meal. 
  1. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated and functioning optimally. 
  1. Plan Balanced Meals: Include a variety of foods from all food groups to ensure you’re getting a range of nutrients. 
  1. Get Creative in the Kitchen: Try new recipes and involve your family in meal preparation to make healthy eating fun and enjoyable.
