Memorial Day
Happy Memorial Day from all of us at NHC. Nationally we recognize this day to remember those who gave all, but every day we are thankful for the freedom we have due to the sacrifices made.
Special Events: If April showers bring May flowers, then NHC is bloomin’ with life enriching activities during the month of May, during National Skilled Nursing Care Week, May 11-17, 2025. This year’s theme for NSNCW is “Tapestry of Life”. Come join us in our activities during this week to celebrate a tapestry of memories, music and movement, and artwork. We especially encourage family to join their loved one to watch The Tennessee Jewels who will be performing on Wed., May 14th at 2:00p in the ground floor dining room. NHC Fort Sanders will end the week of celebration with an NHC Partner/Nursing Cookout & Recognition Ceremony at 11:00am in the Dining Room, followed by an ice cream cart for all residents to enjoy.
Announcements for Families: NHC Fort Sanders would like to thank our NHC Resident Families who participated with their loved one in the Spring Prom 2025 special event. You helped them celebrate days of ole and make new memories along the way that will last a lifetime!
Special Thanks: A special thank you to Kimberly Way with Caris Hospice who provided Easter themed canvas kits and painting supplies for residents to create a variety of colorful Easter paintings to showcase on our NHC Wall of Fame. And a BIG SHOUT OUT to UT TR Intern, Kate McCarville, for hosting the NHC Spring Prom “A Walk Down Memory Lane” on April 25th! During the Prom, residents enjoyed eating hors d’oeuvres, socializing with others, taking photo ops at our Prom photo booth, celebrating the Prom King & Queen, and dancing to a variety of songs from a playlist that was created from selected songs by partners and residents. Words can’t describe how wonderful this event turned out to be! It definitely was our “Prom of the Century!” Thank you, Kate, for taking us down memory lane to celebrate life through dance and song! May the memory of NHC Spring Prom live on!
Nurses Week
Be sure to wish our nurses a very happy Nurses Week! These men and women are an essential part of our teams across our company. From our centers to our various communities and throughout our agencies and hospitals, they touch the lives of so many patients and residents. Their heart is shown through their work, and we greatly appreciate them!
Better Speech and Hearing Month
Happy Speech Therapy Month! Our SLPs play a pivotal role in our communities, offering personalized care and support to each resident. Their expertise not only helps residents recover lost abilities but also fosters a sense of independence and confidence. The positive impact they create is evident in the smiles and progress of those they work with every day. Let’s continue to celebrate and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our speech language pathologists this month and always.
