Memorial Day
Happy Memorial Day from all of us at NHC. Nationally we recognize this day to remember those who gave all, but every day we are thankful for the freedom we have due to the sacrifices made.
Special Events: Happy May! I know the residents have been so excited that those April showers helped to bring all those beautiful May flowers! In April, we planted flowers in our Secret Garden and are waiting to see the results. We have a busy, but fun filled month ahead. On Monday May 5th, we will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with an afternoon of fun starting at 2:30 with snacks made by our kitchen! Wednesday May 7th, we will make our own strawberry shortcakes at 2:30pm. We will enjoy a lunch out at Olive Garden on Wednesday May 7th. Our annual Mother’s Day Tea Party will be Thursday May 8th starting at 2pm. May 12 thru the 16th is National Skilled Nursing Week and we plan to celebrate as a whole campus with the fun starting on Monday with Smiley Swirl. Tuesday May 13, we will partner with Primrose to make a mural for our Healthcare at 10am in the Healthcare Dining Room. Wednesday May 14th from 9 to 11 am, we will have a Carnival with lots of games and fun!! Thursday May 15, we will partner with Two Rivers Church to make toys for Operation Christmas Child at 1:30 in the Rehab Lobby. Finally, to close this week of fun, we will have a coffee bar. Renita will be back to craft cards on Monday May 12 and Monday May 19 at 10:30am. Wednesday May 21 we are going to Ingles followed by Live Music with Timothy in our Dining Room at 2:30pm. We will celebrate all those May Birthdays on Thursday the 22nd at 2:00pm. Al Mahon will be back Friday May 23 during Happy Hour at 3:00pm to play. We will celebrate Memorial Day with a cookout at lunch time and an afternoon celebration at 2:30. We will travel to Germany on Tuesday May 27th at 2pm. Wednesday May 28th, Cliff Adkins will perform in the Healthcare Dining Room at 2:30.
Announcements for Families: In May, we will celebrate National Skilled Nursing Week with a Carnival on May 14th from 9 to 11 am. We encourage families to come and enjoy a fun morning with STAR Ponies, Clowns, a dunk tank and much more!! We will have more details for you soon!
Special Thanks: We would like to say Thank You to everyone who helped make our Alzheimer’s fundraiser a huge success this year. We raised $6447.14 and could not have done that without all your support!
Nurses Week
Be sure to wish our nurses a very happy Nurses Week! These men and women are an essential part of our teams across our company. From our centers to our various communities and throughout our agencies and hospitals, they touch the lives of so many patients and residents. Their heart is shown through their work, and we greatly appreciate them!
Better Speech and Hearing Month
Happy Speech Therapy Month! Our SLPs play a pivotal role in our communities, offering personalized care and support to each resident. Their expertise not only helps residents recover lost abilities but also fosters a sense of independence and confidence. The positive impact they create is evident in the smiles and progress of those they work with every day. Let’s continue to celebrate and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our speech language pathologists this month and always.
