Center News: It is time for September! That means another month of fun and…. football season! Go Vols! Two Rivers Church volunteer, Micki Ritchie, will continue her program “The Joy of Jesus Bible Study” every Tuesday at 10:30am. Our friend, Kimberly Way, is coming back to craft and get us in the fall spirit. She will be leading a Fall Painting Craft on September 5th at 2:00pm. Another volunteer, Renita, is going to show us her craft of making Greeting Cards on September 9th at 2:00pm just in time for the holiday season. We honor our friends at the Assisted Living Facility starting September 9th for National Assisted Living Week. We have a big week planned and the more the merrier. We are so excited to welcome back Creature Features! They will be bringing their furry friends on September 10th at 3:30pm in the courtyard. You do not want to miss out on the opportunity to love on these wild critters. Cliff Adkins will be joining us on September 11th at 2:30pm to perform a Patriotic Gospel Show. Drum roll please…. Elvis will be in the building on September 12th at 2:30pm. The incredibly talented Buddy Kidd will be performing an Elvis Tribute, and it will be packed! September has a Friday the 13th and then there is a Full Moon on September 17th. Giving us a sneak peek to Halloween next month for those who decorate early. The Ohana Ukeleleans are performing their “Oldies but Goodies” show for us on September 18th at 3:00pm. The official First Day of Autumn is September 22nd, and I think we are all hoping to feel that cool fall breeze. We will be hosting a monthly birthday party for our September birthdays on the 25th at 2:00pm. We will have cake and punch. Come say hi and stop by for a sweet treat! We will be hosting an Oktoberfest Social on September 26th at 2:00pm in the courtyard. We will have nonalcoholic beer and some festive munchies. Our Chaplain continues to lead his Worship Service every Tuesday at 3:30pm. He is also available for in-room visitation. Please be on the lookout for flyers around the facility addressing additional groups, scheduling changes, spontaneous events, and more! We hope to see you there!

NHC’s Game Day Kickoff Buffalo Chicken Dip

Get ready to cheer on your favorite team with NHC’s Game Day Kickoff Buffalo Chicken Dip! Quick to make and packed with flavor, it’s perfect for enjoying the game with family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken works great!)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo sauce (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1/2 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, cream cheese, Buffalo sauce, ranch or blue cheese dressing, and half of the shredded cheeses.
  3. Spread and Top: Spread the mixture into an oven-safe dish and sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
  4. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dip is hot and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired, and serve warm with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crackers.
