As the vibrant colors of fall arrive and the air turns cooler, we’re excited to celebrate the season of change and reflection.  We’re grateful to have you as part of our family during this beautiful time of year!

Center News: Happy October everyone! It is already that spooky time of the year – cue the ghosts and pumpkins! We are starting out this month with a spooky jar craft on October 2nd at 2:00pm. On October 3rd, Timothy will be singing for us at 2:00pm. He is incredibly talented! Renita is going to show us her craft of making Greeting Cards on October 7th at 10:00am. They are perfect for any occasion, and you can stash some away for the Holidays. We look forward to welcoming very special guests on October 8th at 2:00pm as we do pumpkin painting with a local kids group. It is the perfect way to get you in the fall spirit. We are excited to use some of our new ovens to make pumpkin cinnamon rolls on October 10th at 2:00pm. Yum! Paul Indelicato will be performing a live music show on October 17th at 2:00pm, and he is a fan favorite. We have our monthly Resident Council Meeting on October 22nd, and this is an opportunity for residents to have a voice and express needs, concerns, or suggestions to our staff. Our friend, Kimberly Way, is coming back to host a Spooky Mocktail Hour. She will be here on October 23rd at 2:00pm, and she will bring all the yummy faux cocktails! Since October is the month of sweets and candy, we are making Halloween cookies on October 28th at 2:00pm. Our Annual Trick or Treat Event will be held on October 29th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. We encourage all friends and family to join us and dress up in your best costume. Our residents and patients will get a bucket of candy to pass out to the trick-or-treaters. We will have costume accessories, and we are happy to share. We have a Halloween Bash on October 31st at 2:00pm. We plan to have snacks, candy, and punch – Costumes encouraged! Please join us for Freaky Friday Fright Night on October 25th. This is an event where local businesses, community groups, and Farragut volunteers hand out treats to children. We can’t wait to show you our theme! Our Chaplain continues to lead his Worship Service every Tuesday at 3:30pm and Sunday at 10:30am in the Assisted Living Dining Room. He is also available for in-room visitation. Micki and Maria will continue to lead their Joy of Jesus Bible Study every Tuesday morning at 10:30am. Catholic Communion is also available – please let a staff member know if you are interested. Be on the lookout for flyers around the facility addressing additional groups, scheduling changes, spontaneous events, and more! We hope to see you there!

Announcements for Families: Family and friends are always welcome in our activities, and we encourage you to join in on the fun with your loved ones. We hope to see you at our Trick or Treat Event. Please spread the word and come enjoy! Our program is designed to stimulate and support your highest social, physical, and emotional functional levels while completing your therapy. FLU SEASON

As flu season begins, we want to remind everyone to take extra precautions. Please make sure to get your flu shot, and if you’re feeling under the weather, we kindly ask that you stay home and plan your visit for another time when you’re feeling better. Don’t forget to wash your hands regularly to help keep everyone healthy!

Hurricane Helene Update

We are incredibly proud of the remarkable teamwork our NHC team members have shown in supporting locations impacted by Hurricane Helene. Many of our NHC partners are recovering from loss and storm destruction, and their resilience during this difficult time is inspiring. Please continue to keep those impacted by the Hurricane in your thoughts and prayers as they rebuild and recover.
