NHC Acquires Missouri Centers

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – National HealthCare Corporation (NYSE Amex: NHC, NHC.PRA), one of the nation’s leading operators of senior care services, announces the purchase of Macon Health Care Center, a 120-bed skilled health care center in Macon, Missouri, and Osage Beach Health Care Center, a 120-bed skilled health care center in Osage Beach, Missouri. The centers were previously owned by Health Care Realty of Macon, L.P. and Health Care Realty of Osage Beach, L.P. Both centers have been continuously managed by NHC since 1982. The effective date of the purchase was December 1.
In addition, NHC announced it has entered into an operating agreement to lease Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, a 120-bed skilled health care center located in Springfield, Missouri. This center has also been under NHC management since 1982. The terms of the 10 year lease include five additional five-year options.
“The quality of NHC’s services to the senior care community in the state of Missouri is well known,” NHC President Steve Flatt said. “We have been a strong provider in the state for over 28 years. We now own, lease, or manage 15 operations in the state with over 1,900 beds.”
