We are humbled by the generosity of the members of our community who have asked how they can help support our partners and patients during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. With your help, together we can make a significant difference in the lives of NHC patients, healthcare workers, and more.
Senior care is of vital importance during this COVID-19 crisis. We need to make sure that senior care has all the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) we need to protect the most vulnerable of us and be able to continue to work with hospitals to accept discharged patients.
Help us Locate Any Supplies of Unused PPE
At NHC, we are taking every precaution to prevent COVID-19, and other viruses, from entering our center. One of our greatest needs during this time is personal protective equipment (PPE) such as:
- Goggles or face shields
- Hand sanitizer
Since most elective procedures for medical or dental purposes have been suspended in an effort to reduce the usage of PPE, we hope there is unused PPE available.
Where Unused PPE Might Be Found
We are asking your help to secure unused PPE in your community. Some of the sources might be manufacturing facilities, construction companies, dental, veterinary or medical offices. Additional resources could include schools, colleges, or universities that utilize PPE in their operations or as a part of their instruction.
If there are CNA training programs, nursing schools, or medical schools, they likely to have additional supply that could be used right now. Many of these businesses and schools are temporarily closed and we are in desperate need of these PPE.
We understand that may businesses may be converting production to make sanitizers or other PPE. If you know of companies doing that, please tell them of our need.
