Center News: Holston will be celebrating a Western theme for the month of September, and you are invited to participate with upcoming events on the calendar including a visit from STAR Ranch Mini Ponies and Donkeys, The Sev7ens Birthday Party, JR’s Square Dancers, Golden Hair Gospel Singers!
Announcements for Families: Volunteers are needed!!! Your time could be spent doing the things you already enjoy. Do you like the great outdoors? You may enjoy sitting with those who like the fresh air on the front porch or in the courtyard gardens. Are you a people-person? We need those who will assist our residents with filling out menu selections or consider visiting in room with those who have few family visits. Rebecca and Kim could always use an extra hand assisting life enrichment program with various activities that peek your interests! Give Kim Uzonyi a call at 865-524-1500 x3028 If you would like to join us in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, please contact Kim or meet us at the Zoo for a walk! Participants can spend the rest of the day in the zoo and explore the new Planet Predator exhibit. For those LTC Residents who would like to cast their ballot for the upcoming election, Knox County Board of Elections will be here on Monday, October 14, at 2:00 p.m.
Special Thanks: Thank you Pet Smart for your donation of large, soft, plush animals! The residents won them as prizes when they attended the rope the bull game! Team Jesus brought bingo prizes and assisted with Bingo! Brian King, Insurance Specialist from NHC Advantage brought prizes and taught a class on NHC Advantage shopping. We appreciate Blair for his time performing for our residents & patients with his beautiful voice and familiar ballads. A big shout out to Holston’s Resident Council who provided a community service project for the Sarah Moore Green Elementary School by donating requested supplies valued over $150.00.
NHC’s Game Day Kickoff Buffalo Chicken Dip
Get ready to cheer on your favorite team with NHC’s Game Day Kickoff Buffalo Chicken Dip! Quick to make and packed with flavor, it’s perfect for enjoying the game with family and friends.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken works great!)
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup Buffalo sauce (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1/2 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Optional: Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, cream cheese, Buffalo sauce, ranch or blue cheese dressing, and half of the shredded cheeses.
- Spread and Top: Spread the mixture into an oven-safe dish and sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dip is hot and bubbly.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired, and serve warm with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crackers.
