August is already here, and the year continues to fly by. Schools are getting back in session making these dog days of summer a bit more hectic for many families. We wish everyone a smooth transition back into daily routines and hope you enjoy the remaining bits of summer!

Announcements for Families: We will experience the Olympic Games Paris theme at the beginning of the month from opening ceremony to competitive sports! Then we will be “Back to School” with a twist on traditional subjects and classes at Holston High. Our Residents and patients will enjoy all the subjects and especially the extra curriculum as scheduled on the calendar! Thanks: Thank you to all of our Summer Student Volunteers who added so much youth and vigor to the activity programs. Welcome new volunteers Linda, Otto, and Sharron! We appreciate the extra help with menu selections, room visits, and assistance with group activities. Ongoing appreciation is extended to all partners who help transport their patients and residents to and from activities of choice! Our therapy is top-notch and engages their patients by participating alongside their patients in morning chair exercises offered by our CTRS! Appreciation is extended to our Pet Therapy volunteers during the dog-days of summer! We love to pet the pooches! Summer reading was provided by the Sarah More Green Elementary School’s “freedom school” summer reading program!
