Board approves proposed NHC skilled nursing center at Maury Regional Medical Center

The Columbia Daily Herald reports that the state has given approval to a proposed NHC skilled nursing facility to be built at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee, to replace the companies’ older facilities.

Maury Regional Medical Center and Murfreesboro-based National HealthCare Corporation applied for a certificate of need from the Tennessee Health Systems Development Agency in July. The application was approved by the board on Oct. 23. The facility — tentatively named the NHC/Maury County Regional Transitional Care Center — will be a 112-bed skilled nursing home. A skilled nursing facility is a certification that allows for Medicare reimbursement.
